Baby Bowl – Very Berry Breakfast

So this is less of a ‘recipe’, and a lot more of a ‘put together’. I was talking to a beautiful Mummy friend of mine today, and she was discussing looking in the fridge and not knowing what to cook her daughter for breakfast (her gorgeous little one is 8 months). I was saying that we just need to take the stress out of always trying to think what to cook for our kids, and sometimes thrown together recipes are the best. I was also discussing that the freezer has become my best friend when it comes to all things weaning. I make so many batches of food and freeze the portions to pull out for my son at a moments notice, and it looks like I’ve been slaving away in the kitchen all day.

DSC_8144I am also a major fan of frozen fruit. I never really bought any unless I was making a smoothie, but now I buy a lot of fruit from frozen and use them as I would unfrozen fruit in my cooking as they’re so good. This morning I was feeling a little stumped what to make my son as I want to keep his food varied, so I just threw this together. I took a couple of handfuls of fruit – in this one I used blueberries, raspberries and mango, defrosted it all for 1 minute in the microwave, squished all the blueberries so they aren’t a choking hazard, then just added it to some full fat yoghurt (babies under 1 should only have full fat diary).

I know this is a quick one, but sometimes they’re the best when you’re short on time and thinking on your feet 🙂
